It could very well mean the difference between life and death. At Kirrawee Veterinary Hospital, we provide diagnostic tests and treatment plans that consider the unique requirements of each individual pet.

Operating 7 days a week

We understand that some things can’t wait, which is why we are pleased to offer our veterinary services 7 days a week for all and any emergencies. For critically unwell patients, know that we are here to assist when required.

Our capabilities include surgery, medicine, diagnostic imaging and neurology. We have the necessary medical equipment, technology and expertise to treat your pet.

When is it a pet emergency?

It is advisable to seek emergency vet care when you see any of the following:

• Trauma (e.g. hit by a car or falling from a height)
• Evidence of poisoning
• Heat stroke
• Snake bites or fight wounds
• Tick bites
• Paralysis

Unfortunately, sometimes the signs of needing emergency vet care are not as obvious.
Keep a watchful eye for any of the following:

• Coughing
• Vomiting
• Abnormal bleeding
• Reduced ability to move
• Straining to go to the toilet or diarrhoea
• Abdominal bloating
• Vomiting throughout the day (as many as up to three-four times)
• Changes in breathing

Our dedicated emergency team are committed and required to stay up to date with continuing education and therefore are thoroughly trained, and will help determine what’s best for you and your pet while fitting in with your budget.

We serve the needs of our clients and their pets with our team of experienced veterinarians and nurses who aim to keep your furry friend healthy and you smiling. Our hospital was designed as a veterinary surgery by an architect, and features state-of-the-art equipment and facilities to cater to your pet’s needs.
