ABOUT US
Our Story & Legacy in Kirrawee
Kirrawee Veterinary Hospital was founded in 1976 by Dr. Bill Ilkin, with his wife, Margueritte, by his side. Together, they built a practice driven by a passion for delivering the highest standard of veterinary medicine and surgery, always prioritizing the well-being of their patients and the trust of their clients.
Today, their legacy continues under the leadership of their son, Dr. Simon Ilkin. Though Bill and Margueritte have now retired, they remain deeply involved in the clinic, ensuring that the values they instilled—excellence, compassion, and dedication—remain at the heart of everything we do. Simon is proud to carry on their vision, with his twin sister, Chanel, by his side. As a family, we are committed to continuing the work that Bill and Margueritte started, striving to serve our community with the same love and care for many years to come.
ABOUT US
What Makes Us Exceptional in Veterinary Care
Our team stays at the forefront of veterinary medicine, regularly training in the latest medical and surgical advancements. We actively collaborate with veterinary specialists and continuously seek new treatments, techniques, and innovations to ensure the best possible care for your pets.
At Kirrawee Veterinary Hospital, we are more than just a clinic—we are a family dedicated to providing not only exceptional veterinary care but also warmth, kindness, and a genuine love for the animals we treat. Our goal is not just to meet your expectations but to exceed them, ensuring both you and your pet leave with a smile.
Pet Grooming
At Kirrawee Veterinary Hospital, we offer specialised grooming services for dogs and cats who find regular grooming stressful. Our team can provide full clips under safe sedation for pets who suffer from anxiety or are unable to visit a traditional groomer, ensuring their comfort and wellbeing. We also offer nail clipping as part of our gentle care.
Pet Training
At our clinic, we use gentle, positive reinforcement to help puppies learn good manners, build confidence, and develop great social skills. Our Puppy Preschool and Puppy Primary classes are run by our wonderful nurses, who have a special love for training and helping pups get the very best start in life. It’s all about making learning fun, rewarding, and a little bit wiggly too!
Compassionate In-Hospital Care
We don’t provide standard boarding services, but when pets need to stay with us due to illness or ongoing monitoring, we make every effort to keep them safe, comfortable, and stress-free. Our team provides gentle care, regular attention, and a calming environment to support your pet’s recovery — while also easing the worries of their family.
