Meet Nurse Kayla

Kayla first joined the Kirrawee Veterinary Hospital team as a TAFE veterinary nursing student, and it didn’t take long for us to realise she was someone truly special. From the very beginning, her dedication, work ethic, and genuine love for animals stood out—and we knew we had to keep her.

Since then, Kayla has grown into a skilled and compassionate veterinary nurse, known for her bright smile, kind heart, and unwavering commitment to every patient she cares for. She has a particular passion for oncology nursing, taking great care with our chemotherapy patients to ensure their comfort and wellbeing throughout treatment. Her interest in animal behaviour also adds depth to her approach, allowing her to connect with patients on a deeper level and help them feel safe and understood during their visits.

What sets Kayla apart is the way she balances warmth with strength. Behind her gentle nature is a powerhouse of drive, curiosity, and professionalism. Even as she begins a new chapter studying to become a human paramedic, Kayla continues to bring her all to every shift at KVH. We are so proud of her ambition and excited for what lies ahead—but we’re also very grateful to still have her as part of our team (for a little while longer, at least!).

Kayla’s future is undeniably bright, and we’re lucky to have played a part in her journey.
